What customers say?

“ Shang Palace is an excellent Chinese restaurant located in the Shangri-La Makati Hotel. Atmosphere The ambience feels a bit cold — not only in temperature but also in the layout, spacing, and overall décor. It gives the impression that time has passed for this place, and it could benefit from a slight renovation. Not a full modernization, but just enough to refresh the look while keeping its original character. Rating: 4/5 Service The service is friendly, warm, and attentive, but somewhat disorganized. I had to follow up several times on a few orders that were forgotten. Rating: 4/5 Food The food is very good. The Peking duck was exceptionally well cooked and is highly recommended. The dim sum is also solid — perhaps not the best in the city, but consistently high in quality. All the dishes in the photos were enjoyable, and I particularly recommend the custard and the mango spring roll. Rating: 5/5 Overall Experience Overall rating: 4/5 Shang Palace is a recommended place for Chinese cuisine, though I wouldn’t consider it my top choice in Metro Manila. Nonetheless, it delivers a satisfying dining experience with strong food quality and a classic atmosphere. ”

“ My partner and I celebrated our anniversary at the Shangri-La Hotel and decided to dine at Shang Palace. While we were initially hesitant due to mixed online reviews, our experience was overwhelmingly positive. The food was nothing short of phenomenal, ranking among the finest Chinese cuisine we have enjoyed in the Philippines. Every dish was expertly prepared and flavorful. What truly elevated the evening, however, was the service. Although a minor miscommunication with a staff member initially caused some discomfort, Supervisor Paul demonstrated exemplary professionalism. He promptly intervened, resolved the issue with genuine concern, and ensured we received impeccable, attentive service for the remainder of our meal. We left thoroughly impressed. For an unforgettable dining experience where outstanding food is matched by outstanding service, we highly recommend Shang Palace. Be sure to ask for Paul—his dedication to guest satisfaction is remarkable. Rating: Food 10/10 | Service 10/10 ”

“ I was pleasantly surprised by the speedy service and the overall quality of the food. The prices were fair, especially considering it's a hotel restaurant. I found the seating to be clean and comfortable, though it did feel a little old. For portion sizes, the soup is a generous serving for one person, and the fried rice could easily be shared by two to three adults. However, the three-combination platter was a real disappointment. The roast pork lacked the crispy skin I was hoping for, and the char siu was far too fatty. The only redeeming part of the platter was the roast duck, which was just okay. ”
